Build it! Paper Marble Roller Coaster Club

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Join our hands-on building club to participate in a amazing experience of building roller coasters for marbles. Participants will apply math, science and engineering skills to build incredible coasters. Students will follow step by step directions to make beams, columns and supports. These will be used to create the framework for the coaster. Next, students will learn to build the components of the track. These will include straight track, curves, funnels and loops. Students will then assemble the track while learning how to attach track pieces and learning to create cantilevers, beams and shelves. During each stage of the design, children will enjoy testing marbles, timing their runs, and working as teams to make adjustments, share design ideas and make decisions about their coasters.

Paper Marble Roller Coasters have been built in schools in all 50 states and in over 25 countries. Miss Kibler discovered these projects through attendance at the Future of Educational Technology Conference and can't wait to lead students through these building experiences.
