Cost is $210 - Must be 15 years or older, seeking employment as a lifeguard or instructor with The Town of Aurora Community Pool.

A physical fitness test is required before a candidate is able to take this class. You will be tested on the first day of class. A refund will be given to those who are unable to:
1) Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Goggles may used.
2) Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs, with hands in armpits.
3) Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point with both hands holding the object, keeping head above the water. Then exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Please bring bathing suit, towel, and sweatshirt. Students will be in and out of the water.
Online sessions are to be completed prior to classes per instructor's request.
